| It's come to our attention Spammers can utilize certain functions of the KickApps platform to send unwanted Spam emails. To combat this, we are making significant changes to the Email to Friends and Invite Friends functions. We are making these changes as fast as possible to combat misuse of the KickApps platform and to ensure stable and reliable service to all our users.
NOTE: *These changes will take affect early during the week of December 21st.*
Please review the changes (detailed below) and email us immediately at support@kickapps.com if you have any questions or concerns.
Changes to the Email to Friends function found on User Profile and Media Play pages and the Invite Friends function found on the My Home, Member List, and User Profile pages:
1. Login required.
Alien and logged out users will be prompted to log in when clicking the Email to Friends and Invite Friends links.
2. Email verification required.
All users will be required to verify their email address when accessing the Email to Friends and Invite Friends functions. If a user's email address has yet to be verified, the platform will send them a verification email. The user simply has to click the verification link in that email and the Email to Friends and Invite Friends functions will be activated. Users who have already verified their email addresses as part of joining a community will not have to verify their email address again when accessing the Email to Friends and Invite Friends functions.
3. Successful Captcha completion required.
All users will be required to successfully complete a Captcha form in order to utilize the Email to Friends and Invite Friends functions.
