Let's learn how to get the maximum mileage out of this egroup.
The first thing you need is a blog. Although many think that a
wordpress blog is absolutely the best I tend to like blogger much
better because it is so much easier to use. I have a blog called<a
href="http://jurisdictionaryokc.blogspot.com">jurisdictionaryOKC</a>.
That has an RSS feed just like this forum does. Everything I post here
and anything anyone else posts her is automatically fed to <a
href="jurisdictionaryokc.blogapot.com">JurisdictionaryOKC,/a> and the
RSS feed from the blog is automatically picked up in a Yahoo pipe.
feed also known as JurisdictionaryOKC.
Once you have the pipe set up in Yahoo pipes you will want to use the
share functions provided in yahoo pipes. The next thing you need is a
gmail account such as jurisdictionaryokc@gmail.com. Of course, your
two email addresses had to be set up first in order to use blogger.com
and pipes so you have those all ready to go.
When you start using the share function of pipes you will want to post
to facebook first. You will want to use your gmail address for
everything except yahoo pipes.
The next step is to create a group on Facebook. I set up a group
called jurisdictionaryokc under non-profit organizations. Once that is
set up you can set up some applications and your event calendar. Once
you have a group of friends following you should start to get more
people attending your meetings.
Next you will want to click on the search bar and search for RSS. This
will give you a few RSS feeds that your posts will be published on
when you add something to this egroup.
Now go back and type RSS into the search box again and add in more RSS
feeds. There are only two or three that have large numbers of members
and are even worthwhile adding to your profile.
Next let's go back to our yahoo pipe and click on the icon for
Twitter. We will add the feed from the pipe to twitter. Your twitter
profile as a URL bar where you could put in the URL for your web page
but instead of that we will get the RSS feed from our pipe to put into
that URL bar.
Next we went to ttp://www.pingfm.com and created a profile there. We
added facebook and twitter and friendfeed for jurisdictionaryokc on
those netwirks. There are about 50 networks listed on pingfm and you
can add te feed to all of them if you want to spend the time to do so.
Now you have a very powerful way to spread the word about
jurisdictionary and your local chapter. The publicity you can get this
way is almost limitless. Every time you post to this group the message
is instantaneously spread to all those networks. You can't get that
kind of networking anywhere simply by starting with posting your
messages here and all the work is done for you automatically and for
free.
So let's get to posting on this egroup and let your words be spread
all over the internet. Start your own blog, feed the RSS to your own
pipe and hence all over the internet. Join my groups and start your
own. Let's interlink them with feeds between all the chapters so
people can learn about our chapters and what we are doing to promote
our cause.
